Alice in Waterland by Elena Kalis
by Daniel Haim
Web discoveries are the world’s best discoveries. There’s nothing like spending a quiet Thursday evening at home with my girl Sarah, surfing the net and stumbling upon a batch of photos that take your breath away. The word “stunning” can only begin to describe this story by soon-to-be-iconic underwater photographer, Elena Kalis.
Earlier, while perusing the musings of my close friend, Marius Troy, over at BenTrovatoBlog.com, I came across this interview with Elena Kalis. To be honest, I just didn’t know what to say. Her vision is epic; her composition is surreal and cinematic.
Elena Kalis is a conceptual underwater photographer who lives on a small island in the Bahamas. Surrounded by the warm ocean, she admittedly utilizes her environment as inspiration for her work.
If you haven’t seen Elena’s work yet, then feast your eyes on this story. For us here at Bloginity.com, Elena has already reached the photographic zenith. Add to this her successful juggling of career, social media and interaction with her 30,000+ fans on Facebook and you have one stellar persona. Make sure to check her out on Google+ and like her Facebook page. And as always, stay tuned for more features like this.
