Beauty Trend Spring 2012 – Natural Skin
by Julia Dalton
There were so many shows this season where the models walked the runway completely bare… on their face that is. Numerous shows went against the traditional feature enhancing makeup this season and went for the natural of all natural looks. Shows like Proenza, went almost completely nude adding only MAC blush in Cloud and Immortal Love, a light sculpting powder and darkened brows where Chloe was not far off giving a more “caramel honey tone” to the natural effect. Givenchy kept it extremely natural as well adding a little edge with a metallic piece directly under the middle of the lower lash line and a matching piece on the lid. Natural seems to be the way to go, especially for skin.
Designers like Louis Vuitton kept the skin super clean and dewey where Ralph Lauren kept it extremely matte and polished yet both allowed a bit more in the feature enhancing division. For Ralph Lauren, Tom Pecheux used Estée Lauder’s soon-to-be-launched Invisible Fluid Makeup which gives an very clean and matte look. He then focused on the apples of the cheeks with an apricot-rosy blush lightly brushing up the cheek bone, using a beautiful matte white shadow he lightly applied this to the lid with a very slight swipe of black mascara. Pecheux finished the look with a translucent gloss in Citron Kiss from Estée Lauder
