Embellished Hair

We saw a lot of adornment in hair on the runways for spring summer 2012. By adding a headband, stylish clip or some other chic accessory you can take your hair from plain to fashionable in mere seconds (we like that!) Dress up an unraveled, slept-in look or a pristine ponytail with a headband from Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Its certainly not a surprise that braiding is still very much on-trend. From complex precision to the messy fishtail, this look is constantly evolving over the seasons. Create texture, body and grip by adding Bumble & Bumble Surf Styling Spray or Frederic Fekkai Au Naturel Dry Shampoo.

Big Blowouts

Big ‘expensive’ hair is taking on a 60’s look with backcombing and volume a must. Add plenty of Michael Van Clarke Volumizing Mousse to damp hair and blow dry in with a rounded boar-bristle brush. For extra curl – section hair and mist with GHD Curl Hold Spraybefore working with large barrel tongs. For extra longevity clip the curls to you head with flat pins and spray with hairspray and leave to cool before lightly brushing out. Backcomb at the roots and smooth over for extra height at the crown.

Wet & Dry Look / Combination Hair

From hair that looks straight out of the shower, to a more stylized wet and dry combination, this look is a departure from anything we have seen lately. If aiming for the wet look over the winter months use a gel and let hair dry naturally or loosely blow-dry with fingers before leaving the house (don’t get sick for the sake of fashion by braving the outdoors with wet hair please ladies). During summer use this as an excuse to treat hair by applying Moroccan Oil Treatment, a nourishing formula receiving rave reviews.

Never out of fashion and a go-to whenever in doubt the Pony is a fail-safe for any occasion. Whether you wear your pony-tail high with pride or low and chic make sure hair is smooth and in pristine condition. Give hair (and body) a festive treat with Philosophy Old Fashioned Eggnog shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath and smooth down with Oribe Gel Sérum -Radiance, Magic and Hold.
