First Look At Jason Wu’s Target Collaboration
by Keesean Moore
There’s always a ton of buzz around Target’s designer capsule collections and the hype is definitely well deserved. With an impressive history of avant-garde pairings–Rodarte, McQ, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Missoni have all joined forces with the open-minded mass retailer–shoppers are pretty much guaranteed chic and smart design that will never break the bank.
Next up on the list is Michelle Obama’s star designer Jason Wu, whose incredible knack for tailoring and renovated elegance has garnered him an impressive, not to mention presidential, following.
The collection, due February 5, was inspired by a mischievous black cat named Milu who makes a few appearances on some of the accessories in the collection.
Unlike Target’s previous endeavors, Jason Wu’s collection is incredibly trendy, but the pieces look to have a long-lasting shelf-life.
“My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection,” Wu told T Magazine. “Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.”
Be sure to pick up knee pads, pepper spray, and helmets because there may be some bloodshed this time around.
