Louis Vuitton’s First Fragrance
by Katherine Gould
Just because it’s a new year it doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten last years hottest rumour… that Louis Vuitton is releasing its first fragrance in over 20 years. Well, the whispers are true, Jacques Cavalier-Belletrud, one of the world’s most famous ‘noses’ and creator of some of the most influential perfumes, has been assigned this formidable task.
Hailing from Grasse in the South of France, the cradle of the perfume world since the 18th Century (if you’ve ever read Perfume by Patrick Suskind, or seen the movie, you’ll know all about it), Cavalier-Belletrud is a third generation perfumer. His list of accomplishments is long, having brought us fragrances such as Jean Paul Gaultier’s ‘Classic’, Poeme by Lancôme and Dior Addict, to name but a few.
This must-have fragrance has the potential to contain some unique blends and rare scents, let alone the promise of some highly desirable luxary packaging. It’s enough to make your toes curl in excitement.
