Carine Roitfeld’s new Magazine has fired up Condé Nast

The fashion star used to be the editor of French Vogue, which is one of publishing company Condé Nast’s brands.

Carine is due to launch a new magazine later this year and has teamed up with Fashion Media Group LLC for the publication.

According to New York Post, Condé’s International chairman Jonathan Newhouse wants to ensure exclusive contracts the company have with fashion industry professionals are held up.

“A call did go out from Jonathan Newhouse’s office with the idea to reinforce the fact that people were under exclusive contracts,” a source told the publication.

Among those said to have been contacted are photographers Mario Testino and Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

“Everyone is buzzing about the Condé roadblocks against Carine,” another source told the publication. “People love Carine but are more frightened of the Condé Nast machine.”

Representatives for the publishing house didn’t get back to New York Post, while Carine’s spokesperson couldn’t be contacted.
