Prada Fall 2013 Ready-to-Wear Collection
by Melissa Tunstall
Usually the words undone in fashion work as a semi-polite way to say unfinished, broken, or just no good, however Prada managed to turn it around and make undone chic and desirable.
Asymmetrical hems, uneven necklines, and even wet hair showcased that perfection isn’t the only way to go. Designing for real ladies, Miuccia Prada knew what was up. Impeccable as ever—and even with the skewed hemlines—the tailoring did not disappoint. Cinching in at the waist when needed, Miuccia ensured that even though the look may be slightly unkempt a woman’s curves shouldn’t be hidden.
Black reigned supreme on the runway, but touches of grey, gold, and even some gingham print did pop up. Giving working girls major style inspiration, Prada reinvented the cardigan and the dress combo. Cardigans/sweaters/long sleeves worn under fancier dresses makes running from the office to dinner even more feasible and cute. Way to go, Miuccia.
